Reporting Officer (Settlement & Performance Focus)
About Us
CruisePay Finance is a Canadian Electronic Money Institution (EMI) specialising in global card payment processing solutions for merchants worldwide. We provide secure, scalable, and compliant financial infrastructure that powers businesses across multiple regions.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-driven Reporting Officer based in Lagos, Nigeria. This is a full-time, in-office role designed for a professional who understands that in the PSP world, reports are rarely clean. You will be responsible for navigating "messy" data to ensure our merchants are settled accurately, and our internal performance KPIs are meticulously tracked.
Key Responsibilities
· Daily Settlement Reporting: Generate accurate reports for Gross Settlement and Net Settlement based on specific merchant agreements.
· Risk & Reserve Management: Monitor and report on Rolling Reserves chargebacks and refunds.
· Reconciliation & Discrepancy Analysis: Perform deep-dive reconciliations between Gateway and Merchant reports to identify and justify gaps.
· Data Integrity & Justification: Utilise Excel to identify and explain logical reasons for the differences between the Gateways and Merchant report.
· Performance Insights: Analyse how processed refunds, chargeback debits and rolling reserve deductions impact the final settlement and overall merchant reporting.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years in reporting or data analysis; preference for those who understand the "Why" and "How" of the payments industry.
- Technical Skills: * Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modelling) is essential to handle multi-tiered pricing and effective MDR calculations.
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Core Competencies: * High attention to detail—must be able to account for "hidden" costs like transaction fees on refunds or minimum settlement thresholds.
- Strong analytical skills to calculate effective rates beyond base MDR.
- National Service: Must have completed NYSC or hold a valid Exemption/Exclusion Certificate.
- Industry Knowledge: Direct experience in a PSP or fintech environment, particularly with high-risk processing or risk mitigation reports.
- Technical Tools: Familiarity with SQL or other data querying tools.
- Problem Solving: Ability to explain complex financial discrepancies, such as why a reserve is calculated on Gross volume rather than Net.
What We Offer
- Salary: Gross monthly salary of USD 500.
- Environment: Opportunity to work in a fast-growing international fintech environment.
- Development: Exposure to global payments data and career growth opportunities.
