We are looking for a professional, organized, and reliable HR Officer – HR Operations & Employee Relationsto join our team in Sivakasi, India.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and supporting day-to-day human resources operations, including employee relations, attendance, leave management, HR documentation, staff files, employee well-being, recruitment coordination, onboarding, reporting, and general staff-related matters.

This role will report directly to the Managing Director and will work closely with managers and department heads to ensure that company policies, procedures, workplace standards, and HR processes are properly followed and respected.

The HR Officer will play an important role in supporting a positive workplace culture, maintaining compliance with applicable employment laws, and ensuring smooth communication and coordination between management and employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for employee queries, HR-related matters, workplace concerns, and staff support.
  • Monitor daily attendance, punctuality, employee availability, late arrivals, and absence-related matters.
  • Manage annual leave, sick leave, leave approvals, leave balances, and related documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee records, HR files, contracts, HR letters, bank account opening documents, and staff documentation.
  • Coordinate recruitment support with management, including screening, interview scheduling, test tasks, feedback follow-up, and onboarding.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions and guide new employees on company policies, reporting lines, HR systems, Mattermost, Jira, and internal procedures.
  • Support payroll-related documentation, attendance records, leave records, and employee compensation information.
  • Support managers with performance reviews, yearly appraisals, employee follow-ups, and identifying training or support needs.
  • Monitor employee responsiveness, task activity, and work progress, and escalate idle, unavailable, or non-responsive employees to the relevant managers.
  • Prepare weekly HR reports covering attendance, leave, employee updates, performance follow-ups, task status, and any issues requiring management attention.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, workplace standards, and HR processes are properly followed and respected.
  • Support employee relations by helping resolve concerns, grievances, and workplace conflicts in a fair and professional manner.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and professional workplace culture.
  • Support smooth internal communication between management, managers, departments, and employees.
  • Provide general administrative support, including VAT, invoice-related documentation, and operational finance coordination where required.
  • Report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with managers to support daily HR operations and company needs.
 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in an HR Officer, HR Administrator, or similar HR role.
  • Good knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, and local labour law requirements.
  • Experience handling attendance, leave management, employee records, HR documentation, and staff matters.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, payroll documentation, and HR reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle employee concerns professionally and confidentially.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to monitor staff activity, follow up professionally, and escalate issues when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems is an advantage.
  • Experience using Mattermost, Jira, or similar internal communication/task management systems is an advantage.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work onsite in Sivakasi, India.
  • Fluency in English and Tamil/local Indian language, both written and verbal.
 

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in a fintech, payments, financial services, or international company environment.
  • Experience working closely with senior management or department heads.
  • Experience preparing HR reports, attendance reports, and employee performance summaries.
  • Experience supporting payroll, benefits, employee documentation, and office administration.
  • Knowledge of employee engagement, performance appraisal processes, and workplace compliance.
