On behalf of our client, a well-established international brokerage and financial services group, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Head of Back Office to join their growing team in Nicosia. Operating across multiple international markets, the company provides trading and investment services to a global client base through a regulated and technology-driven environment. Due to continued growth, the company is seeking a hands-on and experienced professional to lead and develop its Back Office function, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional client experience.
 

The Role

The Head of Back Office will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day back-office operations, including client onboarding support, deposits and withdrawals, payment processing, reconciliations, account administration, and operational controls. The successful candidate will manage and develop the Back Office team while ensuring efficient workflows, accurate processing, and adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
 

Key Responsibilities

Back Office Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Back Office department
  • Manage client account administration, account maintenance, and operational requests
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payment-related activities
  • Monitor operational workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and operational controls Payments & Reconciliations
  • Oversee payment operations across multiple PSPs, payment institutions, and banking partners
  • Monitor daily reconciliations of client funds, payment providers, and banking transactions
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and payment-related issues
  • Coordinate with Finance and Treasury teams regarding client money flows and payment settlements
  • Monitor chargebacks, payment investigations, and operational payment risks
 

Client Operations

  • Oversee client onboarding support and account maintenance processes
  • Ensure operational support is delivered efficiently and in accordance with company procedures
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Risk departments regarding client account matters and operational reviews
 

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Back Office team
  • Allocate workloads and monitor team performance
  • Establish and maintain KPIs and service-level standards
  • Support recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Finance, Treasury, and Customer Support teams
  • Liaise with PSPs, banks, payment providers, and external service providers
  • Participate in operational projects and system improvements
 

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience within an online brokerage, trading services, or regulated financial services environment
  • Proven experience in Back Office operations, client money handling, payment processing, and reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of deposits, withdrawals, payment workflows, and operational controls
  • Experience working with PSPs, payment providers, and banking partners
  • Strong understanding of client account administration and operational procedures
  • Experience leading or supervising Back Office teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
 

Highly Desirable

  • Previous experience as Head of Back Office, Back Office Manager, Payments Manager, or Operations Manager within an online brokerage environment
  • Experience with MT4, MT5, CRM systems, and brokerage operational platforms
  • Experience managing client money flows and payment operations
  • Exposure to AML, KYC, and regulatory operational processes
  • Experience working within CySEC-regulated environments Benefits

This role is focused on brokerage operations, payment processing, reconciliations, client money handling, and Back Office management. Applications from candidates whose experience is primarily focused on customer support, administration, sales, or compliance without direct Back Office and payment operations experience may not be considered.
