On behalf of our client a reputable financial institution operating in Mauritius, which provides innovative and trusted solutions to our clients we are seeking a Compliance Officer approved by the regulator to join their dynamic team.
Position Overview:
As a Compliance Officer approved by the regulator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations adhere to all regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures to safeguard our business and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Monitor changes in regulatory landscape and ensure timely updates to internal policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on compliance matters, including training and awareness programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits, coordinating responses and remediation efforts as needed.
- Investigate and report any compliance breaches or suspicious activities to senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and developments, providing insights and recommendations to enhance compliance practices.
Requirements:
- Resident in Mauritius is a must.
- Approved Compliance Officer status by the relevant regulator in Mauritius.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing compliance programs and initiatives.
- Professional certifications or qualifications in compliance are a plus.
