Full TimeCompliance, AML-CFT
Port Louis, Mauritius
  October 8, 2026
  Expires in 30 days
   Apply Before:  November 8, 2026

Volity is building a financial platform for trading, investing and payments. Our Mauritius business operates through an FSC-licensed financial-services entity.

We are looking for a senior compliance professional who knows the Mauritius regulatory environment and can turn regulatory requirements into controls people can actually use. The role covers day-to-day compliance and AML/CFT work and has direct access to the board and senior management.

MANDATE

You will run the local compliance framework and coordinate the day-to-day AML/CFT work. The final governance structure will determine who holds the formal Compliance Officer, MLRO and DMLRO appointments.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain a risk-based compliance programme around the entity's licence, products, clients and cross-border activities.
  • Advise the board and management on FSC requirements, regulatory changes and the compliance impact of new products, markets or operating changes.
  • Maintain the compliance risk assessment, monitoring plan, regulatory calendar, breach and incident records, action tracking and board reporting.
  • Coordinate the AML/CFT framework, including KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions and PEP controls, ongoing monitoring, risk assessments and escalation of unusual activity. Work closely with the MLRO and DMLRO where those appointments are held separately.
  • Review material policies, client communications, complaints, outsourcing arrangements and operating procedures where there is a compliance or financial crime risk.
  • Prepare or coordinate regulatory filings, notifications, inspections and responses to the FSC that fall within the role.
  • Work directly with auditors, legal advisers, the management company and other control functions. Make sure responsibilities are clear and evidence is kept.
  • Report material compliance and AML/CFT issues clearly to the board and management and follow remediation through to closure.

What we need

  • You live in Mauritius and will remain ordinarily resident in the country while holding the appointment. This is a Volity requirement.
  • You have practical compliance experience inside an FSC-regulated financial-services business. Previous appointment or approval as an FSC Compliance Officer is strongly preferred.
  • For formal appointment as the Compliance Officer, you should meet the current FSC competency standards: a relevant qualification from a recognised institution and at least five years of relevant industry experience. The FSC may consider at least three years of relevant experience where the candidate also holds a relevant and valid AML/CFT professional certification.
  • You have strong working knowledge of Mauritius AML/CFT requirements, KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions controls, regulatory reporting and risk-based compliance monitoring.
  • You have advised boards and senior management and dealt directly with the FSC, auditors and professional advisers.
  • You can interpret regulatory requirements accurately, document your reasoning and turn them into procedures, controls and management information that work in practice.

Useful experience

  • Investment dealer, securities brokerage, wealth, trading platform, payments or another market-facing FSC-regulated financial-services business.
  • Building or materially upgrading a compliance monitoring programme, AML/CFT framework, risk assessment or board reporting process.
  • Regulatory applications, licence variations, inspections, remediation, outsourcing oversight or cross-border client activity.

The role

  • The control framework is still being developed, so the person joining will help decide how compliance works day to day.
  • The role has direct access to the board and group management and will work closely with the MLRO and DMLRO.
  • The job title covers compliance and AML/CFT work. Any formal appointments as Compliance Officer, MLRO or DMLRO will follow the approved governance structure and FSC requirements and may be held by different people.
