On behalf of our client, a well-established international brokerage and financial services group, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join their executive leadership team in Nicosia.

Operating across multiple international markets, the company provides trading and investment services to a global client base through a regulated and technology-driven environment. As part of its continued growth and expansion, the company is seeking a highly experienced technology leader to oversee and evolve its trading infrastructure, operational platforms, and technology strategy.
 

The Role

The Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for defining and executing the company's technology vision while ensuring the stability, scalability, security, and performance of its trading and operational infrastructure. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role requiring strong experience within online brokerage, trading technology, or financial services environments. The successful candidate will work closely with Executive Management and key business stakeholders to support growth, innovation, operational efficiency, and technology excellence across the organization.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's technology strategy and roadmap
• Lead the overall technology function, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Drive innovation across trading technology, automation, data, reporting, and operational platforms
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance across the technology landscape
• Participate in executive-level planning and strategic decision-making Trading Infrastructure & Platforms
• Oversee trading infrastructure, execution systems, and platform performance
• Manage and optimize MT4, MT5, bridge technologies, liquidity connectivity, and related ecosystems
• Ensure high availability, low latency, scalability, and operational resilience across trading environments
• Support integrations with liquidity providers, trading venues, and external technology partners
• Oversee FIX API connectivity and related integrations Technology Operations
• Lead cloud infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives
• Ensure system monitoring, incident management, and operational reliability
• Establish best practices for infrastructure management, software development, and technology governance
• Support regulatory and security requirements across technology environments Internal Systems & Business Platforms
• Oversee CRM platforms, client portals, payment integrations, operational systems, and workflow automation initiatives
• Support optimization and integration of internal business applications
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Finance, Risk, and Customer Support departments to improve internal processes Vendor & Partner Management
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, infrastructure providers, liquidity partners, and strategic technology suppliers
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and third-party solutions
• Negotiate technology contracts and service agreements Team Leadership
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing technology teams
• Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and development plans for technical staff
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience within online brokerage, trading technology, fintech, or regulated financial services environments
• Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role such as CTO, Head of Technology, IT Director, or Technology Lead
• Strong understanding of trading infrastructure, execution technologies, liquidity connectivity, and brokerage operations
• Hands-on experience with MT4, MT5, bridge technologies, FIX protocol, APIs, and trading-related integrations
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, disaster recovery, and operational resilience
• Experience supporting high-volume, international trading operations
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Highly Desirable
• Previous experience within an online brokerage, multi-asset brokerage, or trading services provider
• Experience integrating trading platforms with liquidity providers and third-party systems
• Experience overseeing CRM platforms, client portals, payment integrations, and operational systems
• Knowledge of automation, business intelligence, analytics, and AI-driven technologies
• Experience working within regulated environments such as CySEC, FCA, ASIC, DFSA, or equivalent regulatory frameworks
