CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international Forex Broker with expanding operations in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Database Analyst to join their growing team. As a Database Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that handle significant transaction volumes, whilst ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security in compliance with financial services regulations. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another related field, who possess approximately 3+ years of experience in database management and development roles, preferably gained working in the financial services sector. Expert-level proficiency in SQL with proven experience in query optimization for high-volume systems is essential, along with hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server in production environments. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer based on skills and experience, including fully remote working options within Cyprus, with the ability to visit the office in Limassol at your discretion.
 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Design, build, and maintain scalable database infrastructure to support high-volume trading operations.
• Implement and manage MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server environments optimized for financial data processing.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, data models, and architectural documentation for trading systems.
• Ensure optimal database performance through proactive monitoring and real-time optimization.
• Perform critical database maintenance including automated backups, updates, and security patches.
• Implement and manage comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies for trading data.
• Monitor database performance and resolve issues with minimal impact on trading operations.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with financial industry regulations including ASIC and FCA requirements.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions for trading applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize real-time trading application database interactions.
• Implement database triggers, views, and other objects supporting trading workflows.
• Conduct performance tuning and query optimization for high-frequency trading systems.
• Manage and optimize database systems on AWS cloud infrastructure supporting global operations.
• Support data integration and ETL processes for trading data aggregation and reporting.
• Ensure seamless connectivity between cloud-based and on-premises financial systems.
• Implement and maintain database security protocols and access controls for financial data.
• Ensure compliance with financial services regulations and institutional-grade security standards.
• Monitor and audit database access and activities for regulatory reporting requirements.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in database management and development roles, preferably in financial services.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL with proven experience in query optimization for high-volume systems.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server in production environments.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud database services and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in database design, data modelling, and schema development for financial applications.
• Experience with backup and recovery strategies, high availability configurations for critical systems.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, scripting, and data processing.
• Experience with additional programming languages beneficial for trading system integration.
• Knowledge of database administration tools and real-time monitoring solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Understanding of data governance, compliance requirements, and risk management.
• Knowledge of financial data standards and regulatory reporting requirements is desirable.
• Familiarity with trading platforms and financial market data structures is desirable.
• Experience with database clustering, replication, and high-availability architectures.
• Understanding of FX market operations and institutional trading workflows will be considered a plus.
• Experience with database automation and configuration management tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
