Eurotrader is undergoing an exciting transition from a Microsoft SQL Server-based analytics stack to a modern data platform built on Snowflake, leveraging Hevo for CDC. We are committed to delivering high-quality, scalable analytics solutions and are seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting our migration to Snowflake, ensuring business continuity in analytics, and driving efficiency in our data platform.
Location: Remote (with flexibility to coordinate across time zones)
Key Responsibilities :
- Support Migration & Maintenance
- Assist in the transition from SQL Server to Snowflake, maintaining and optimizing existing systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operations during the migration phase.
Data Engineering & BI Development
Design, build, and maintain ETL, streaming, and CDC pipelines, focusing on data quality, reliability, and efficiency. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and refine BI dashboards and data models to support evolving analytics needs.
Database Management & Optimization
Manage and optimize SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and jobs. Take ownership of cloud costs by monitoring and optimizing resource usage on the data platform.
Metadata & Data Transformation
Use SQL and low-code/no-code tools to manage data transformations and metadata, ensuring data integrity and consistency across the platform.
Collaboration Across Time Zones
Work effectively across time zones, coordinating with teams to troubleshoot issues, deploy solutions, and support analytics functions as needed.
Requirements :
- Experience & Technical Skills
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with MSSQL, SQL Server Management Studio, and Power BI.
- Excellent SQL proficiency, with a deep understanding of stored procedures, views, and database jobs.
- Strong knowledge of database internals and experience debugging complex database issues.
- Proven experience developing BI dashboards and data models.
- Familiarity with at least one modern data warehouse (preferably Snowflake).
- Experience building and maintaining ETL, streaming, and CDC pipelines, with knowledge of at least one CDC framework.
- Basic understanding of data warehouse cluster management and distributed systems for data platforms.
- Analytical & Communication Skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to think critically about data and processes. Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and effectively share insights.
Not necessary but good to have:
CDC & Scripting Proficiency Experience with Hevo or similar CDC frameworks. Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
